Misinterpreted Music Lyrics

Last night Jacey and I went shopping for all of the supplies needed to create a pumpkin for my office's Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Our last stop was Tom Thumb to buy 5 small pumpkins. One thing I really like about shopping at Tom Thumb is the music. They always play good music. While standing in the check-out line "I love Rock and Roll" was playing; Jacey thought the lyrics were, "I love Domino's" and was singing that very loudly. The cashier got a nice chuckle out that. I have to say though that she comes by it all honestly. In the song "Bad Moon on the Rise" by CCR I thought they were saying "There is a bathroom on the right" and "Panama" by Van Halen....well I thought they were yelling "Cannonball" (just like we did as kids before jumping in the pool). And before you ask, "and how old were you when you thought this"...it was when I was in my teen years :)

What about Steely Dan??!!
"Are you gathering up the tears" was interpreted as
"Are you rising in the East?"

That's right!
"Are you reeling in the years?"
Not, "are you rising in the East.

"Are you gathering up the tears?" and not
"are you gtahering up your teeth?"

Now,
'scuse me while I kiss this guy!

Love, Mom
