Ok, so when I signed up for my running class at school I figured, piece of cake, we go out run, thats it. Oh was I mistaken. Today it is pretty windy outside so we did indoor cardio circuit training, and let me tell you...it kicked my butt! We started out with our usual conditioning warm-up (10 sets of 20 crunches with one set of full sit-ups in between sets & 50 push ups), and then boot camp began. Here is what all we did:
2 minute brisk walk
2 minutes of planks
2 minute jog
50 lunges
4 sets of 20 second sprints
50 squats
2 min jumping rope
2 minutes of wall sits
2 minute jog
2 minute brisk walk
50 lunges
2 minutes jump rope
50 squats
2 minutes of planks
5 minute jog
Oh and we SPRINTED to each of these stations when it was time to switch!
I wear my awesome Polar watch when I work out, and it said my heart rate got up to 192! That is a Zone 5 for me! In that quick 40 minute work out I burned 470 calories! I am exhausted!
