I know all of you have been waiting for 9 long painstaking months for the return of this amazing feature on my blog. Well wait no longer...because it is back!
For all of my new readers out there here is the gist. Our very close friend, Damon, is the commissioner of this great little weekly game called College Pick Em's. Each week he emails out a list of 10 games and one tie breaker game (which is usually deemed the game of the week) to a group of us who are football fanatics that will be played that upcoming weekend. Our job is to simply predict who will win. And then for the tie breaker game, we must predict the actual score. At the end of each week, the highly trained commissioner does his magic and announces the 'Pick of the Week', 'Brick of the Week' and 'Champ of the Week'. There are no prizes for winning in any of these categories, except bragging rights for the week. Which at Casa de Leija that is everything!
In regular Jessica fashion, I can't just do something the way it is supposed to be done...I have to make up my own rules and put my spin on it. So instead of just simply looking at rankings, players, stats, blah, blah, blah, I look at the mascot for each team and ask myself, "Self, if these two mascots were to get into a fight...who would win?"
Now, I know many of you are saying to yourselves, "There is no way her theory works!" Well, for all of you doubters out there, let me tell you, I used this same exact theory for the NCAA basketball brackets the past two years. The first year I finished second...this past year FIRST!
So now that you are all caught up; check back soon for Week One's Mascot Match-Up!
