Just remember that history records mistakes as well as accomplishments. Electing a black man isn't necessarily a mistake but electing someone who is morally bankrupt is!

Its also a mistake (and pretty ignorant) to assume that anyone who is not a Republican is morally bankrupt. Obama is a Christian, and last time I checked, judgement only belongs to one. Don't fall into the trap of being so short-sighted that you forget that this man will be leading our country and it is our duty to pray for his sucess, not complain about his shortcomings. Be a part of the solution, not the problem (and other cliches as well).

If you're going to voice your opinion you should at least let us know who you are.

Your comment about Obama being a christian is interesting. Is there any proof out there to support this? If so please direct me to the link. I'd like to read up on it and educate myself about it because the last interview that I saw he was admitting his muslim faith.

Of course, I don't care what faith the president chooses to practice. I might live in this world but I am not of this world...I put my trust and faith in God, not man.

I put my full trust in God and that is why I feel that we should not cut down someone, regardless of their religious preference, but put our full effort to prayer and trust that God has a plan for us and this country. Currently His plan includes Mr. Barack Obama being president. We as a nation and as Christians should support those elected to lead our country. If you disagree with his politics, pray for God's wisdom to fill him and guide him. Attacking him as a person defeats the belief that we are not to judge others, but walk by faith and let God direct our lives.

This is not a fourm to debate politics and religion and I do not wish to detract from the family atmosphere. Only to throw out my two cents. Feel free to take it or leave it.

Dear Sam,
You are absolutely right, it is a mistake to assume that someone who is of a different political persuasion than myself, is morally bankrupt.

"Bankrupt" as Webster's defines it:

"Destitute or depleted, spiritually bankrupt."

"Destitute, as being in want"
"Depleted, to reduce or lessen."

To avoid being ignorant, in matters that I am to use discernment, we are to seek God through His Word and through prayer and revelation of the Holy Spirit. We are told in the Bible that we are known by our fruit, what is displayed in our lives (Matt, 7:16-20). I would consider anyone morally bankrupt, whether they were a Republican or a Democrat that sanctions partial-birth abortion (Acts 17:25b, Psalms 127:3, 139:13-16, Prov. 6:16-17,) or homosexual unions (Levi. 18:22, Romans 1:24-27).

No where in either of Barak Obama's statements of faith that you listed does he say I am a Christ follower which is what a Christian is. A Christ follower is one who has admitted they are a sinner in need of a Savior. They have seen that their good, their best of intentions, will never be good enough to meet God's holy standards. There is only One who has not only met God's standards of righteousness but also died in our/my place, bearing my judgment and His name is Jesus Christ. He bore our sins, died in our place and rose from the dead.

At this heart's revelation if a person invites Christ to come and dwell within them, putting their full trust in Him, putting Him in effect, into the driver's seat, He will. It doesn't mean that a person will never make mistakes or struggle against selfishness or improper thoughts. We are simply, a work in progress.

I agree, judgement does belong to only one. The only One, Jesus Christ the Holy Son of God. (John 5:22,27, Acts 10:42, Acts 17:31, 2 Cor. 5:10, 2 Tim.4:1, Heb. 10:30-31).`

I am not sure where in my 2 sentences I implied that I would not be supporting him as our Nation's President. While it's true, I did not vote for him, I am charged as a Christ Follower to pray for those in leadership. To do otherwise is wrong of me. (1Tim. 2:1-2)

Dear Sam,

By reading your comment I am deducing that Maya Angelou sums up your religious beliefs. If Christ is indeed your guide than that implies that one is to follow. So once again, I ask, where in Mr Obama's statements does he profess to be a Christ follower?
