I just have to take a moment to brag on my sweet Jacey-Beth!
This week was mid-terms week for me at school which made this week extremely stressful for me...lots of tests and projects due. So all week I worked on my Storyboard project (which I turned in last night) off and on for a total of about 8 hours. It's my turn to present (I was second to last on the list) and I proudly go up there to show my story concept and my scene drawings that tell my story. I feeling pretty confident since I had seen the other student's work and heard the kind of grades they were getting (he announces the grade right after you present, so the entire class hears it). I knew that my board was on par, if not better, then the majority of the people who got B+ and A- grades. So I present, and he announces my grade...C+! I am immediatly in tears. He goes on to explain that he knows I am capable of so much more because he has seen my sketch book and he predicted that somewhere along the line my confidence level in my art skills has been shaken by people who told me I wasn't good or didn't take the time really look at my works of art. He told me that if he gave me an A or B, I wouldn't remember this moment where he challenged me to be more...but by giving me a C+ he was guaranteed that I would step up my work the next time. I understood what he was saying...but it crushed me. AND, considering I am only in this class because the degree plan requires one class in the animation department...it's not like I am going into the industry...I am here to meet my requirement, and with this grade of a C+ it is seriously derailing my goal...to graduate with a 4.0 and be declared Magna Cum Laude! So needless to say I was VERY upset last night after class.
So I pick up Jacey from the babysitters and she asks why I am so grumpy, so I explain to her that I didn't get the grade I was hoping for on my Storyboard, and she says "Well Mommy, I thought your Storyboard was great!" Aww, how sweet. Then as we were getting out of the car to come into the house she asked if I wanted to grab the Storyboard and I said, "Eh, it can sit in here overnight." And she says, "Well I will carry it in for you because I think it's great and I want to put it in my room." Awwww!
So this morning, I am dropping Jacey off to school and then heading to my last mid-term of the week, and as Jacey gets ready to hop out of the car she puts her elephant webkinz (Packy) in my school bag and says...'He will give you good luck mommy! But, you'd do great even without him."
My goodness....isn't Jacey just the sweetest angel! I just love my sweet, sweet Jacey...

That's our sweet, sweet girl! Her heart is pure!
That story reminded me of when Chaz brought Mr Mouse to St Louis when Grandma was dying and he left it with her so she wouldn't be alone! I still get choked up over that memory.
That's one to tuck away in your heart and pull out on a rainy day!
Love, Mom
How sweet
