Juicy Thoughts : Kiosk Nazi's

Last night we went for our usual mall walk after dinner. We enjoy doing this because it helps let our food settle, lets us walk indoors (because with daylight savings rapidly approaching its getting darker earlier) and on a weeknight it is generally not too crowded. Now, don't get any crazy ideas...we aren't the fanny-pack-wielding-speed-walkers or anything...we just casually stroll the mall.

In our neighborhood mall their is an entire section of those insanely pushy kiosk salespeople! You know the ones! Fake accents, trying to hand you crap or ask you questions. It is SO irritating! NO, I dont want you to pull the inner molecules of hydration out of my nails with her 'magical' nailfile! NO, I don't want to exfoliate my skin with your salt from the dead sea! NO, I don't want you to clean my ring for free! NO, I don't want you to clip that hunk of fake hair to my head!

The reason these kiosks bug me so much is when I go to the mall I am choosing which store to go into. They don't have their sales people at the doors doing pushing me to come in or buy their products. I walk in and then they greet me. It is my choice. It has gotten to the point to when I walk down 'kiosk alley' I either a) don't make eye contact b) say in a very firm voice 'no thank you' when they start to approach me c) appear to be engaged in a very deep conversation. With Christmas season approaching the number of kiosks seem to double...and I am dreading it!

(On a side note, maybe the real reason these kiosks bug me is because I have been suckered in to buying from them before....that magic nail file; but I will admit, it is pretty cool! )

You crack me Jess!! But I totally agree! If I'm by myself I whip out my cell phone and act like I'm too busy talking and tend to walk just a bit faster. I don't realize how ridiculous I probably look when doing this.

I actually had someone try to squirt perfume or body spray on me at the Golden Triangle Mall several months ago! Knowing me you know I had something to say about that! I was not a happy Mama!
