Equinox

Had to take the Equinox in for what we thought was minor service/repairs and ended up getting a pretty hefty list of things needing to be fixed. We talked it over and decided it was the best idea to go ahead and get the items repaired.

Well once the mechanics starting doing the work they encountered some issues. Apparently the previous owners of our car came from either up north or by the coast because there was rusting issues in the drive shaft (where a lot of these major repairs were being done). I found this odd since the car is a 2006 and we purchased it in 2007 with very low miles. Anyway, they couldn't do the work because of the rust and delivered us the bad news. They were going to have to replace the entire drive shaft. At this point, the total price was so high that would make sense for us to have just sold the car! But, because they had performed all of the other work and repairs and were just waiting to do this one last piece it wasn't like we could back out. So we were stuck with a tough decision. Take the car as is, after sinking in all of the money from the original quote, and try to sell it and take a loss...or go ahead and get the entire drive shaft repaired and hope that this car has a lot of miles left on it! The mechanics, who were very nice, told Steven they would take the car to a machine shop that specializes in trying to get the rusted pin out (saving us LOTS of money).

A day went by and I was real nervous and so I stopped everything I was doing and I prayed and immediately felt at ease...I just knew it was all going to work out. So yesterday Steven gets the phone call, the machine shop was able to get the rusted pin out and so we were just back to the original quoted price! God is good!

Just picked the car up and it drives wonderfully! I love how whenever I start to question if God is in control He loves to prove me wrong...which is just fine by me :)

Ugh...cars! We are two payments away from paying off the grand prix and we just had to put $1100 into it and it could use another $600 worth of work. This car has a little over $100K and we are believing to drive it for a really long time since we are almost car payment free.

I didn't get your message until we were home. I HAVE GOT to figure out how to access my messages when I am roaming! It tells me I have to be on a "voice mailbox system", maybe I should just read the dang instruction novel, I mean pamphlet!

Glad it all worked out! Isn't God good to us?
