(Update: I just looked at the Starbucks website, and for the Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino (what is essentially what this is) it has 430 calories and 14g of fat! That is TEN weight watcher points!)
I LOVE coffee in the morning; but I prefer frappaccino's because warm coffee makes me feel like I am having hot flashes. The downside to this is I can't make frappaccino's at home, so I would have to go to Starbucks (or as Steven calls it Fivebucks)...until now!
I was looking through my Hungry Girl cookbook and came across this recipe, so while grocery shopping yesterday I picked up all of the ingredients. With the exception of the vanilla syrup (which was $5, but has 25 oz in it...so it can make 25 drinks) it all cost about $7, that is 2 starbucks drinks! Here is the recipe; oh and the best part...only TWO weight watcher points INCLUDING the whipped cream! This was SO yummy!
5 oz light vanilla soymilk
1 oz sugar-free calorie-free vanilla syrup
1 tablespoon coffee-mate fat free french vanilla powdered creamer, dissolved in 1 oz warm water
1 teaspoon instant coffee
3 no-calorie sweetener packets (sweet-n-low)
5 to 8 ice cubes or 1 cup of crushed ice (I am going to up the ice next time)
2 tablespoons fat free redi whip
Place all ingredients in a blender, except for the redi-whip. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until thouroughly bleneded. Pour in to tall glass and then finish off with whipped topping.
