Wow! Construction began in March of 2004 for a Grand Canyon Skywalk. It juts out about 70 feet from the canyon, 4,000 feet above the Colorado River! It will acommodate 120 people comfortably (umm I dont care how many people it can acommodate comforably...4,000 feet in the air!?!). It is being built with more than 1 million pounds of steel beams, and is designed to hold 72 million pounds. Can withstand an 8.0 magnitude earthquake 50 miles away, and withstand winds in excess of 100 mph. AND...if that wasnt enough to make me want to hurl...it has a glass bottom and sides...4" thick!
