Winter in Texas

Well today we are supposed to get our first rain/sleet/ice storm for the year; and I just have to blog about how humorous this is to me. First off, this "storm" is about the size of 2 counties on the radar....so its not a blizzard by no means. And second, I LOVE the way the media hypes this up. So far I have heard "North Texas prepares for Artic Blast", and the radio stations are telling us to go and stock up on food and supplies...what for?! Its going to be an inch of ice...granted it will make for some interesting driving conditions...but have you see what people to the North of us get? Texans would be amazed if they went North, I think they would get in their car, have a heart attack trying to get out of the driveway, and call it quits. Also, everything (except Walmart of course, hehe) shuts down when these "storms" come through Now, I guess I am a bit of a hypocrite, because I became a driver in Texas...therefore I have no idea how to drive in this stuff either...but I do find it mildly entertaining on how this how thing is SO blown out of porportion. Even my dear husband told me to go and get "supplies" from the store...hehe...so cute...love you! Now, if it turns into a Winter Wonderland later today or tonight...I will come back on here and eat my words.
