Well I survived the NBAA! It was a good time; wasnt much time for fun...mostly work...but still a good time.
I was amazed to see the size of this convention. Some of my co-workers who have been previously tried to convey to me the size of this convention; but that couldnt really prepare me. The convention was held in the facilities that were built for the 1993 Olympics. The convention center was huge; there were actual fueslages of planes in at the show. I was a bit nervous about our booth; but we recieved so many compliments on how it was so different from everyone elses booth and really showcased our work.
One quick story for you. The booth across the aisle from us had 'rent-a-hoe' (blonde bimbos with big boobs to draw people in). At our booth we were giving away an $8,000 Breitling watch so it was my job to get people into our booth and get them entered to win. So I stood on the outside of our booth and talked to people, smiled, joked, etc to get them into our booth. The people (mostly men) would walk into our booth and start asking me questions "Where are you located? What are your capabilities? How large is your facility?" etc..and when I would answer all of their questions back they would say, "OH! You actually WORK for the company?! I thought you were like one of those girls *pointing to the booth across the aisle*" So it became a joke, "Shes not just the bimbo with the watch; she is also a valued member of the company."
