I am just absolutly loving school right now! I am actually disappointed when class is over; and the night before class I am anxious and have a hard time sleeping because I am that excited for the next day.
Right now I am in just one photography class, Digital Imaging I, and I have an awesome professor. He has years upon years of knowledge and experience. He is the real deal. What I love is that class if from 9-1130, but he will stay until 12-1230 to just let you pick his brain. My theory is I am driving 20 miles round trip and using gas (which is not cheap right now) so I am getting every penny's worth that I can. It is in these after class discussions that I am learning so much!
The course itself is rather basic and with me having close to 7 years of graphic design background it is mostly covering things I already know. But, that is absolutly fine with me. I am self taught and so I see this as an opportunity to streamline my workflow in a more efficient manner. Plus, I get to help the other students; which I love. Just today 2 students fell behind on what he was trying to teach, so I hopped up and helped get them back to where the rest of the class was. One of the students, Fred (whom I really enjoy talking with), jokingly said outloud today that I should just become our professors TA (Teaching Assistant), haha! Our professor, Steve, jokingly said, "You all feel free to use Jessica as much as you want...she is getting a TON of after class knowledge from me, so I consider it payback!"
After class he told me how much he appreciates me helping out the students and says that having me in his class is a true joy. He continued to say that he is so excited to teach and show me things that are outside of our basic course because he sees that I have a gift. And he can't wait to see all of my potential.
This is the first time in my life that I am actually enjoying school; and I just can't get enough!
